IT was back down to earth for Kiera Byland after the whirlwind few weeks in America.

After dealing with temperatures of 90+degrees, mum Jacqui admits they have had an interesting return to Bromley Cross.

She said: "We have had to put the heat on because it is so different to over there.

"Kiera even said to me it was a lot colder than what it was in America."

After picking up three medals the 17-year-old is looking forward to the future.

Jacqui said: "She is hoping to get onto a BTEC Level 2 in Sport at Bolton College.

"She went for a pre-interview in July and then could not attend the real interview because of the Special Olympics.

"She has passed her English and Mathematics and hopefully she can look forward to doing that."

Kiera has just qualified as a British Cycling Level One cycle coach and will be returning to the track soon.

Jacqui said: "She will going back to compete with Eastlands where she has got a few races in the Tameside Track League until the end of September.

"The GB coaches were talking about linking up with other European nations such as Denmark and Belgium to see if we can continue with some sort of challenge for the riders.

"There is also the national in 2017 in Sheffield which Keira will be looking to compete in."
