LITTLE Hulton CC have been celebrating a successful season in the junior ranks.

The sides were strengthened during the off-season in the form of Liam Morrell (former Daisy Hill player), Keshana Fonseska (new to the area) and Basil Sultan (plays Salford District with some of the lads as well as Lancashire U10s with Jack Stanley).

All of their junior teams started 2015 with an impressive start winning games week-in week-out.

Stephanie Stanley, one of the coaches, said: "Our lads proved their worth every time and developed during the training sessions on a Tuesday nights at the club with Nekoli Parris our overseas amateur this year and Mick Fletcher (Lancs Level Three coach).

"The u10s played a league match against Edgeworth away where Sultan managed to get an impressive score of 73 runs managing to put a halt to the training session at Edgworth so as they could stand on the sidelines and watch his impressive knock which included five sixes and nine fours.

"Jack Stanley still cheered on his teammate whilst nervous that he would also beat his record from last year of where he scored an excellent 76 runs in our game against Atherton CC.

"Stanley then went on to scoring a comfortable 41 runs also within the last pairing of this game.

"Jacob Jervis was the pick of the bowlers with six wickets."

Barring the u9s, every team were successful in the qualifying games for the cup matches also leading onto each team qualifying for the final of each groups cup matches.

It meant the u14s, u12s and u10s had reached cup final matches.

The u10s took on Winton in a re-run of last year's final and Little Hulton restricted them 208-7 but the team managed to score 277 to win by 69 runs.

But they were unlucky in the league as in the final game of the season they lost by two runs.

Meanwhile the U12s have achieved a play-off against Worsely.

Little Hulton have also had an excellent season in boys being successful in Salford District Cricket too. Harrison Calvert who has played since u10 level has been successful in the trial process and securing himself a spot in the U13 squad.

Also Jack and Basil ( Captain and Vice-Captain) of u11 and u10. Jacob Jervis U11 and U10, Ben Hamilton U11 and u10, Liam Morrell u10, Dylan Wylie U10.
