BREIGHTMET’S Mark Berry is considering stepping up a level in sidecar racing after easily winning a series of races this year.

Along with his passenger Adam Illman of Northwich he won the Tonfanau Sidecar Championships by a huge margin.

The competition features four meetings throughout the summer, each including three races.

Out of the 12 races in total Berry and Illman won the last six in a row on their Jacobs Suzuki 600 machine to finish with 93 points, more than 30 clear of their nearest challenger.

They wrapped up the title with their first three wins of the series at the penultimate meeting and went on to cement their dominance with victories in all three races at the last meeting.

Berry said: "We were quite a lot of points ahead of second place so I'm thinking of doing some other championships next year."

The self-employed gardener is looking for sponsorship to help him achieve his ambitions of taking his sidecar racing career to the next level and anyone interested in getting involved can email him at metalfacemark@hotmail.com.
