MORE than 30 of Bolton Metro’s swimmers attended a swim camp during the school half term holidays at Rossall School.

The swimmers certainly didn’t get much of a restful holiday as they were put through an intensive programme of both water and land based programmes.

The innovative programme of activities was devised by head coach Mike Robinson and assistant Laurence Mills and certainly stretched the swimmers and prepare them for the competition season ahead which starts with the North West Winter Regional Championships in Liverpool.

Included in the programme was an inspirational presentation from Ryan Bennett who is an ex-Metro swimmer and a four-time Commonwealth Games finalist, European and World junior Gold medal holder and Scottish record holder.

The swimmers were also given nutritional advice by Nic Rowley, British Biathlete medallist, coach and Sports Physiologist, who also put the squad through their paces in the gym.

Head coach Robinson was delighted with the attitude and commitment shown in all activities and Metro hope that such a camp can be held again in the near future.

Bolton Metro Swimming Squad is a highly motivated squad with a great history and are keen to develop ties with an local businesses who may wish to consider sponsorship.

The squad are represented at Regional and National Championships providing any sponsors with great opportunity to promote their business.
