THE Brian Gittins Cup for the Premier and Division One teams is now at the quarter-final stage to be played the week commencing February 15.

Last week Wingates had a walkover against Hilton B and will be at home to Radcliffe CC who had a narrow win against Heaton A in which they overcame the handicap of 86.5.

Ramsbottom A also had a walkover against Little Lever A and will now be at home to their arch-rivals Flixton CC A who beat Nomads B 381-345.5, overcoming a handicap of 135.5.

This will be an interesting dress rehearsal for their league clash in the final week of the season.

Hilton A, who beat Harper Brass A 394-341.5 – overcoming a handicap of 79.5 – will be at home to Wharton who had a comfortable win against Coburg A 398-289.5 despite a handicap of 72.5.

Burning Desire overcame their handicap of 93.5 to win 395.5-381 away to Coburg B.

They will now be at home to Farnworth SC A who had a narrow 336.5-338 win at Hilton C in which they overcame a handicap of 37.5.

In the George Yates Trophy for Divisions Two and Three some results Ramsbottom D when through with a 350.5-376 win away to Boyzone, overcoming a handicap of 93.5.

They will now be at home to Farnworth SC B who made good use of their additional 79.5 to beat Heaton C 398.5-329.

The Ron Hindle Trophy for Division Four is now at the semi-final stage and games will be played on March 21.

Harper Brass E, who had a walkover against St Paul’s Peel B, will be at home to either Heaton E or Meadow Ben C.

Hilton I had a close 366-355.5 victory over their own J team despite the J team receiving 37.5 start. The I team will be away to Ladybridge C who had a more comfortable 371.5-310 win against Farnworth SC D in which they capitalised on a 44.5 point start.
