HOLLIE Asquith showed international class at an artistic roller skating competition in France.

The 10-year-old Bolton School Junior Girls' School Year 6 pupil came fifth out of 16 competitors in the A class competition in Issy de Moulinex, Paris.

She performed two solo dances and came fifth against 16 international competitors from Belgium, France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Netherlands and Paraguay.

Hollie is now looking forward to the British Championships at Andover in June, along with fellow 10-year-old Bolton School pupil Summer Burke, when their goal will be to qualify for the European Championships in Portugal in August.

Hollie and her mum and coach at Bolton Artistic Roller Skating Club, Nina Asquith, made the trip to Paris late, meaning Hollie missed her pre-competition practice on the international floor.

She had a 15-minute practice on the morning of the competition and her minimal preparation did not stop her performing both her solo dances impressively.
