GLEN Kenyon led home a huge field of 50 Burnden members at the Radcliffe AC 10k.

Kenyon’s time of 38mins 57secs earned him 21st place overall out of 350 finishers. Steve Nolan was the club's second member to cross the line, claiming the top M55 prize in 39:15.

Liz McLellan was the first Burnden female member to finish, coming fourth lady finisher overall and first F45 in 43:12. Lyndsay Darbyshire was second F45 in 46:41.

There was another clean sweep for the ladies in the F55 category – Lesley Fisher won it coming fifth female finisher overall in 45:22, with Gwen Kinloch second in the category with 45:42 and Anne Ferguson third in 49:34.

Katy Thompson was third F40 in 48:50 and Les Kaneen third F50 in 59:41.

McLellan, Fisher and Kinloch’s combined times won the overall ladies' team prize with Darbyshire, Thompson and Ferguson third in the team standings.

Phil Glassbrook picked up another first V70 with a time of 56:26.

Four members travelled to Preston for the Valiant Half Marathon with Phil Eccleston, in his final preparations for the London Marathon this weekend, coming home in second place in 1:14:33.

Gari Jones was next to cross the line, posting a time of 1:58:30, with Julie Newton (2:05:26) and Ann Butler (2:06:03) completing the quartet.

The growing interest in triathlons saw two members travel to the Lake District for the Kendal Tri Sprint.

Ged Turner posted times of 13:59 for the 400m swim, 46:11 for the 18k bike ride and completed the 5k run in 25:23 for a total time of 1:27:50.

Phil Holden completed the swim in 10:41 and followed that up with 47:13 on the bike and 30:46 for the run to register a total time of 1:34:44.
