WANDERERS Ladies goalkeeper Amy Brindle has appealed for help from the footballing community to make her dream of playing in America come true.

The 19-year-old stopper has been offered a 50 per cent soccer scholarship to study at ASA Miami College from August this year.

And the teenager has launched her own crowd-funding page to help raise some of the remaining £5,000 needed to send her to the States.

"It's a dream come true to be able to go over to the states and play soccer over there," she said.

"Me and my family are looking for help with the extra funds and we've set a go fund me page for anyone willing to help."

Amy started playing club football when she was eight years old, starting off at Bromley Cross Stars Girls before moving on to Oxford Grove and eventually Wanderers Ladies two years ago.

She has helped the side to third place in the North West Women's Regional League this season, eight points behind leaders Crewe Alexandra with three games remaining.

"I played outfield until I was about 13, when my coach, which was my dad, asked me to go in goal to help the team and I have played there ever since," she said.

"Now I play for Bolton Wanderers Ladies, which I love as I'm a life-long Bolton fan.

"It will be hard to leave that behind, but the chance to go to America was too big an opportunity to turn down."
