EGERTON and Edgworth are still searching for their first win in the Premier Division of the Greater Manchester Cricket League following their move from the Bolton League.
Amal Dalugoda (26), Marcus Pratt (55) and Daniel Partington (34) were the main batting threat for Egerton as they were bowled out for 172 by Clifton – a side who defeat Edgworth last weekend.
Liam Hurt bowled a five-wicket haul for 43 runs and Gareth Cross took three wickets for 24 as the current Bolton League champions collapsed.
Dalugoda impressed with the ball with figures of 5-31, but it was 14-year-old Sam Dorsey for Clifton who stole the show knocking 56 not out as the visitors recorded victory with four wickets to spare.
Meanwhile, Edgworth suffered a 123-run loss to Denton St Lawrence after being bowled out for 111 when chasing a target of 234.
Astley and Tyldesley began life in the GMCL with a defeat away to fellow former Bolton Association counterparts Swinton Moorside.
Australian Joel Brockley scored 59 and Aaron Booth added 29 as A&T were bowled out for 169. Brad Palmer did the most damage with the ball taking 3-37.
In reply, Chris Norvall and skipper Jonathan Herreran struck 59no and 42no respectively to reach their target for the loss of only four wickets.
Deane and Derby are sitting second in Divison Three following an impressive victory over Greenmount's second string.
A high-scoring battling line-up, consisting of Impiaz Hussain (57), Mohammed-Maulana (43), Jargef Jeewa (72no) and Yahya Adia (33) saw Deane post 252-6 after the first innings.
Daniel Senior spearheaded Greenmount's reply scoring 56no but a share of the wickets had the visitors bowled out for 198 – 54 runs short of the target.
