THIS afternoon sees finals day for the Dunlop/Slazenger-sponsored Bolton Tennis Tournament, the 34th consecutive year the event has taken place at the Leverhulme Pavilion.

The level events are generally going to seeding. Men's singles second seed Jonny Shacklady is already through to the final and will meet the number one seed Chris Nott if he came through his semi-final yesterday.

The ladies' singles final will be between the top two seeds, Amy Hadjinicolaou and Rachel Branagan.

The men's doubles top seeds Nott and Charlie Foley will play either third seeds Ben Clarke and Peter Leatherbarrow or second seeds Jonny and Phil Shacklady who played last night.

The ladies' doubles may break the dominance of the seeds. Both semi-finals were scheduled for last night. Top seeds Sarah Shacklady and Phillipa Fulcini were due to meet the unseeded pair Holly and Laurie Clark, and second seeds Amy and Olivia Hadjinicolaou were meeting another unseeded pair, Theresa McCarren and Hayley Warrington.

In the level mixed doubles competition three of the top four seeded pairs were to meet in yesterday's semi-finals.

Second and third seeds Shacklady and Rebecca Baldwin and Steve Darlington and Rebecca Baldwin were due to play each other. In an event seemingly dominated by the Shacklady family sixth seeds Phil and Sarah will have played top seeds Foley and Clark. Phil and Sarah beat fourth seeds Mark Hartley and Hayley Warrington to reach the semi-final.

Junior finals will start at 1pm with the men's and ladies' singles following at around 2pm. Entrance is free.
