THE Bolton Community Half Marathon took place on Sunday and has been hailed a success.

Here are some more photographs from the event, as well as details of runners' achievements.

Leigh Harrier Neil Pendlebury was the first across the line, clocking 1hr 11 mins 49 secs, followed by Tommy Harrison of Bolton United Harriers, who ran a time of 1:14:21.

Burnden Road Runners' Phil Ecclestone also made the podium places as he came in third in a time of 1:17:37.

It was a strong all-round performance from Bolton United Harriers, who accounted for seven of the top 20 finishers. Following Harrison in were John Knowles (fifth, 1:18:48), Simon Dally (eighth, 1:20:14), Scott Crompton (12th, 1:23:23), Tom Lucas (17th, 1:25:50), Dominic Gavin (19th, 1:26:49) and Andrew Cafferky (20th,1:27:04).

Sean McMyler led the way for Horwich RMI Harriers as he finished 34th in 1:30:09

In the women's rankings Carmen Byrne from Holcombe Harriers led the way and won in 1:29:25.

Liz McLellan (1:33:49) was the second woman to finish and her Burnden Road Runners clubmate Paula Pilling was next in to complete the women's top three, finishing in 1:34:35.

Burnden Road Runners also had the final competitor to finish as V65 runner Bill Kelly was timed at 3:33:57.
