TYLDESLEY lost a second successive away fixture when they went down 24-5 to South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two leaders, Liverpool Collegiate.

Despite having more possession and territory during the first 40 minutes of what was an entertaining game, Bongs went into the interval 14-5 down.

Liverpool punished two Tyldesley mistakes, crossing for two converted tries.

In between, the visitors had a couple of chances to get on the scoresheet but the hosts' back-line remained intact.

After the half-hour mark, Bongs scored a well-worked try.

A superb throw from Conor Norton and a Matthew Crampton catch set up a strong driving maul for Zack Sargent to touch down.

The second half was practically all Bongs, with Ashley Worsfold putting in a man-of-the-match display.

But the pressure could not be turned into points.

A yellow card for Lee Davies then reduced the visitors to 14 men, 11 minutes from time.

Minutes later, the hosts made a rare visit into the Bongs 22 and came away with a third converted try, adding to an earlier successful penalty.

This took away any chance of a losing bonus point for Tyldesley.
