MEADOW Ben teams swept the board in the first round of the Bolton Table Tennis League Divisional Cups.
In the Brian Gittins Cup, which involves teams from the Premier and Division One, Wingates and Hilton A conceded to give Wharton and Ramsbottom Town B walkovers.
Ramsbottom A brushed off Hilton C's start of 156.5 to win 396-301.5
In the George Yates Trophy for teams from Division Two and Three, Meadow Ben C took full advantage of their 121.5 start to beat Hilton D 416.5-374.
Meadow Ben D also triumphed in the Ron Hindle Trophy for Division Four teams. With a 37.5 start they beat a two-man Irlam Steel 365.5-237.
In an all-Hilton affair, the junior J team started with 44.5 and overcame their H team 359.5-346.
The second round of Divisional Cup ties will take place in the week commencing January 16, while this week the penultimate week of league matches gets underway including the first showdown between top sides Flixton A and Ramsbottom Cricket Club.
