MARCUS Taylor led home 10 Burnden members in the Ribble Valley 10K at Clitheroe.
The heavily-supported race – there were more than 1,000 finishers – also incorporated the Northern 10K Road Championships which ensured a high-quality elite field as well as those simply trying to shake off the Christmas pudding.
Taylor crossed the finish line in 38min 42secs, inside the top 200 finishers.
He was just ahead of Ed Ashton, who posted a time of 39:11.
It was a close sprint finish to determine the first Burnden lady finisher, with Katy Thompson in 47:25 edging it by just two seconds from Jackie Oakes, who ran a personal best of 47:27.
Other results: Iain Conner 52:44, Sarah Sutcliffe 55:05, Alec Cottrill 56:34, Sally Cottrill 56:36, Debra Hennessey 57:07, Fiona Ashton 57:45.
