THERE were notable upsets in divisional cup ties in the Bolton at Home Sunday League despite only three fixtures going ahead.

In Division One Bridge Celtic turned the form book upside down with a comprehensive 5-3 victory over high-flying Top Club.

Top Club boss Mark Statham admitted his side were never at the races as Bridge dominated from start to finish with goals from Dave English (two), Daniel Tierney, Craig Walkden and Jake Ross.

Top Club’s top scorer Ryan Owen was again on the scoresheet along with Jordan Deane and Connor McCarthy.

The other Division One Cup tie saw another upset as much-improved D Havilland put Great Lever Taskers to the sword in a barnstorming 5-1 rout.

Glenn Matthews (two), John Harvey, Kieran Marsh and Jamie Crompton registered for D Havilland with Jason Perry scoring what proved to be a consolation effort for Great Lever Taskers.

The only Division Two Cup tie to survive the weather saw another upset as league leaders Manny Road were thrashed 5-0 by a resurgent Deane FC side.

Manny Road are favourites to win the title but Deane FC made sure there would be no chance of a double this season.

Chris McUltry (two), Nathan Hatton, Dave Stuart and David Fairhurst were all on the scoresheet for Deane who now head towards the semi-finals.
