BOLTON Under-15s made it through to the final of the Greater Manchester County Schools' Woodhead Cup final after a 2-1 win at Warrington on Saturday.

Two goals from St Catherine's Academy's Bradley Edwards sealed victory for the town team – his second just two minutes from the end of extra time as Bolton avoided a penalty shoot-out.

After a tight, competitive opening, Edwards broke the deadlock on 20 minutes with a wonderful, curling strike from distance off the outside of his right foot.

Bolton then began to dominate proceedings but failed to turn their chances into goals.

And Warrington equalised on the half-hour mark when Bolton's defenders failed to clear from a corner and the home side finished well from close range to send this teams in level at half time.

In the second half Bolton continued to have the lion's share of possession and fashioned more scoring opportunities than their hosts.

But neither side could add to their tally and the game went into extra time.

It looked odds on a shoot-out would be needed until Edwards tapped home the winner to put Bolton into the final.
