HINDSFORD Vets moved to the top of Division One after a 4-3 win at Salford Victoria.

John Smith scored a hat-trick for Salford, but Kevin Gall, Lee Povleh, Shaun Smith and Dave Fashou were on target to secure the points for Vets.

Bar Hill JFC went second, one point behind the leaders with a game in hand, thanks to a 3-0 win at bottom side Turton Bay Mare. Barry Massey scored a brace and Ste Hughes netted the other goal.

Fourth-placed Mersey Valley A beat Mitchells Unicorn 3-1 at home. Wayne Barlow scored two and Dimitch the other, while Jones scored the only goal for Mitchells.

North Walkden had a 2-1 home win against Bamford Arms which moved them two points above their opponents in mid-table. Ian Mulin and Neil Matthews scored for North Walkden and Daz Smith netted for the visitors.

The goals kept coming in the match between Queen Lizzy and Digmoor and despite John Carrol, Ian Webber and Robbie Rhea scoring for Digmoor, Clint McLoughlin and Lee Whiteley scored two apiece for Queen Lizzy and Jerome Lloyd made it five.

Mersey Valley B lost at Heaton Vets for whom 61-year-old Graham Walton scored the only goal with a diving header in the last minute.

This enabled Astley Bridge to go three points clear at the top of Division Two as they won 4-2 at home to Ainsworth A.

Paul Fletcher netted two as Brett Metcalfe and Lee Mercatroy added one each, while Jones and King strikes kept Ainsworth in the game.

The game between Radcliffe Vets and Golborne Parkside produced nine goals, but only one separated the teams at the end. Damian Keegan and Mark Westhead each scored two and Danny Pemberton one for Radcliffe Vets, while Noel Coleman, Ste Hughes, Mark Clover and Grant Benson scored for the visitors.

Third-placed Old Boltonians had a comfortable 3-0 win at Radcliffe Old Boys A as Berry scored two and Finch the other.

AFC Dobbies have clinched the Division Three championship as they remain unbeaten with three games to play.

Although Danny Coyle scored two for visitors Elton Liberal, they were no match for Dobbies. Lee Smith scored a hat-trick and Robert Howarth a brace while Anthony Healy, Carl Lomax, Dave Malius and Trevor Howarth contributed one apiece.

Heaton Casuals are in second place and edged a 5-4 win at Bolton Wyresdale. Jason Knowles, Joe Clement and a Simon Darcy double made it four for Wyresdale, but a Tony McCormack hat-trick and two from Tommy Cannon gave Heaton Casuals the points.

Bottom side PF Bury Vets were thrashed 6-1 at home by Atherton Town. Crowther scored for the home side, but Ste Anderton, Craig Conway, Martin Jordan and a Dave Walker hat-trick made it a comfortable win for Atherton.
