MARK Truffers scored twice as Bolton at Home Sunday League Division One leaders Queen Anne put five past nearest title rivals Top Club to edge within a point of clinching the title.

The table-toopers won 5-2 on home soil to stretch their lead at the summit to eight points with Kris Powers, Mitchell Leece and James Tobin also on target and Jordan Dean and John Paul Coruna on the scoresheet for Top Club.

Top club came out of the traps with real intent and played the better football in the first 10 minutes.

They should have gone ahead early on but failed to take their chances.

Queen Anne then started to grow into the game and took a 2-0 lead with goals from Truffers and Leece.

Top Club responded just before half time when Dean scored a superb header after some great football down the left-hand side.

And inside the first five minutes of the second half started, the visitors were level through Coruna.

At this point, Top Club were on top and looked like they were going to go on and win.

However, Queen Anne had other ideas and as they soaked up all the pressure, they played the ball out of defence with some great football and went on the attack to take a 3-2 lead through the ever-reliable Truffers.

After putting a lot of effort into the game, Top Club heads began to drop and Queen Anne went on to score two more late goals through Tobin and substitute Powers.

It was a good game played in a great spirit and the victory leaves Queen Anne just needing one point to become champions.

In the Division Two Cup, Lee Jones and Owen Wood scored for Lostock as they beat Church Reds 2-1 to progress to the semi-finals, Scott Patterson netting for their victims.

Church were leading 1-0 for most of the game after Patterson gave them a early lead.

And they should have had more but the Lostock keeper was in brilliant form as he made save after save to keep the Farnworth side out.

However, with five minutes left the Church keeper failed to save a free kick aimed straight at him and Lostock were level through Jones.

It now looked like the game would go to extra time but Lostock had different ideas and with just one minute to go the Church keeper fumbled a cross and there was Wood to knock the ball into the empty net to take Lostock through to the last four.
