TOMMY Harrison galloped to victory by exactly a minute in the Roddlesworth Roller from Abbey Village at the weekend. Amongst the 217 field, the finishers included Harrison in 32mins 23secs, sixth Dominic Gavin (35:13), 12th Simon Dally (36:17), 22nd Paul Mills (38:30) and 38th Peter Kearney (40:10).
The associated Daffodil Doddle saw many junior Blue Vests compete for their schools, with Jason Scaife (M12) and Molly Philbin (F14) the first to finish.
Elsewhere, amongst the 271 field of the Sweatshop 10-Miler from Bispham near Blackpool, Bolton finishers included James Rideout, who was 40th in 1:10:05, Gary Jones (43rd – 1:10:29) and Stephen Zlotty (189th – 1:34:05).
More than 500 have already registered for the annual Bolton 10K race, hosted by Bolton United Harriers on Sunday, April 23.
With six weeks to go, the event is on course for another full field.
