BOLTON Gymnastics Club showed their strength in numbers and quality at three recent competitions.

The town's only competitive gymnastics club flew the Bolton flag in Wigan, Burnley and Liverpool.

Fifteen gymnasts had a 100 per cent pass rate at the British Gymnastics NDP club and regional grades at Robin Park, Wigan, where they amassed a total of 10 distinctions, three commendations and one pass.

In the club grade six in age category, Millie Taylor was 16th overall, Evie Cook 18th and Freya Burns 23rd with all getting a distinction, while Kayla May was commended in 30th place.

In the club grade six out of age, Izabella Walmsley was seventh overall, seventh on the floor and sixth in range, and Amelia-Grace Ashworth was eighth overall, eighth in the vault, ninth in the bars, and ninth in range. Both got a distinction.

In the club grade five in age, Ellie Branthwaite was 19th overall, and sixth in the vault, and Layla Hargreaves was 17th, with both getting a distinction.

Emily cook was commended in 25th place and Caitlyn Sefton passed in 26th.

In the regional grade four event, Ella Morley was commended in 26th place, while in the regional grade three event Kayleigh Weston got a distinction in 16th place.

In the regional grade two event, Heidi Robinson was second overall (second in the vault, beam and floor competitions) and Hannah Howarth was commended after coming 10th in the bars and seventh in the beam competitions.

In the regional grade one event Maddison Bell was first in both the vault and bars competitions and fifth in the beam and range event. She received a distinction for her performance.

A total of 34 gymnasts from the club took part in a two-piece floor and vault competition in Burnley where they gained a total of 15 gold medals, 12 silver and seven bronze and Lana Pasarello was overall winner in her age group.

Eighteen members competed in the Angel of the North competition in Liverpool where they again got a 100 per cent pass rate and came away with nine distinctions, eight commendations and one pass.

Holly Spence, Heidi Robinson and Maddison Bell placed in the top seven overall in their grade.
