DIVISION Three champions AFC Dobbies achieved their ambition of scoring more than 100 league goals when they put five past Atherton Town at home in their penultimate match in the BSF Over 35s Football League.

Dave Malius scored a brace while Carl Lomax, Lee Smith and Anthony Healey netted one each in their 5-1 win, Martin Jordan scoring for Atherton to take the gloss off the victory.

Dobbies remain unbeaten after 17 league games and have scored 101 goals, conceding just 13.

Their final match is on Sunday when they are away to Atherton Town, so they will have to keep cool heads and avoid Atherton avenging last weekend’s defeat.

Not content with league success, AFC Dobbies are also in two cup finals.

First up is the Division Three Cup final against Elton Liberal FC who are bottom of the division and have won only one league game, but this is a cup final where league form counts for nothing.

The match is at the Tempest United ground on Sunday, April 30 and kicks off at 11am.

It is then on to the Sam Ashworth Trophy final the following Sunday when Radcliffe Old Boys A of Division Two provide the opposition, also at Tempest United (2pm).

In one of three Division One games on Sunday, Salford Victoria saw their title aspirations slip when they lost 4-2 away to Queen Lizzy.

Tony Weall and Mike Curlag scored for Salford, but Gaz Cumnock, Darren Winnard and a Lee Whitley double gave Queen Lizzy the points.

Bottom side Turton Bay Mare went down 3-2 at home against Mitchells Unicorn despite Clarke netting twice.

Galbraith, Newbold and Palmer were on target for the visitors.

The other top-flight match resulted in a comprehensive 5-1 home win for Bamford Arms against Digmoor FC.

Daz Smith, James Simm, Holt, Dunn and Peters scored their goals while Paul Rooney pulled one back for Digmoor.

Radcliffe Vets lost the only Division Two game against Heaton Vets despite Mark Westhead scoring.

Visitors Heaton took the points by scoring four.
