LOSTOCK AC members Abigail Sunter, Michelle Sunter and Jocelyn Chadderton made up the first-placed women's team at the annual Two Lads fell race.

Running over Rivington and West Pennine Moorlands, Abigail Sunter was the fifth placed woman in a time of 46mins 57secs, followed by Michelle Sunter in 51:23 – and first in her age group – with Chadderton turning in a strong supporting time of 58:50.

In the men's listings, Albert Sunter was fourth in his age group in 41:49, with Jordan Sunter making it a family affair in 47:30.

Robert Sharkey was the first Lostocker home in 20th place (40:31), followed by Tony Marlow (42:53) and Chris Taylor (46:11).

The Bolton Hill full and half marathons also saw strong performances from Lostock members.

In the full marathon Adam Lowe posted a time of 4:37:53, followed by Mark Checkley in 4:54:27, while in the half race James Jackson was seventh overall in a time of 1:48:40.

Jack Bibby was 20th overall in 1:56:38, with Cathy Stratton posting a strong time of 2:24:45.

Paul O'Brien and Vikki Goodyear both competed in races at the Keswick Mountain Festival – O'Brien in the tough, undulating 5k where he was 27th overall in 24:59, while Goodyear competed in the super sprint triathlon.

Further afield Albert Sunter and Tony Marlow headed to An Teallach in the Scottish highlands for the two-day Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon where they finished 11th in the score race in a time of 13 hours.
