RYAN Anderton won the Bolton Golf Association Junior Championship with one of the best rounds of his young golfing life.
He produced a superb -1 under par score of 68 to win by six shots at Great Lever & Farnworth Golf Club on Sunday.
The Chorley member beat William Capstick into second place with the Westhoughton player shooting a 74 gross.
The championships provided juniors of all levels with the chance to play in the main competition, and a mini junior competition was held over a shortened course for the third year.
A total of 53 juniors from clubs within the Bolton Golf Association entered the main competition which offered gross and nett prizes.
Jacob Baron from Regent Park claimed the nett prize with a score of 61 ahead of Joel Berry of Hindley Hall and Henry Bolton of Deane, who both scored 62.
A total of 27 players entered the mini juniors with players as young as six years old playing over a shortened 10-hole layout, a format which is proving popular with younger players.
