THE USN Bolton Arena is spearheading an initiative to bring together female sports coaches across Greater Manchester in a networking group.

It is part of part of the Pass on Your Passion scheme which sees experienced coaches “passing on the baton” to the next generation of coaches by offering support and mentoring.

And as part of the initiative the Arena is staging a breakfast meeting on Thursday from 8am to 10am

“We realised there are many female coaches out there at various levels, and we wanted to bring them together to offer support and exchange good practice,” said Sue Hayes, the Arena’s programme manager.

“The meeting is open to all female coaches – whether they’re qualified yet or not – from all sports in the Bolton area and across Greater Manchester.

"This is part of the Greater Sport initiative and we believe the cross-fraternisation of all sports is really healthy and useful.”

World champion duathlete and coach Katie Hewison will be speaking about her career at the meeting which is free but people should register in advance by calling Sue Hayes on 01204 488131 or emailing SueHayes@boltonarena.com
