BISC junior football club can look back on a season of silverware as they continue to go from strength to strength.

The Darcy Lever-based outfit's under-16s and under-13s both lifted trophies.

And the club's success on the field is mirrored by their growth with a new team joining for next season.

BISC, who were formed eight years ago by Dave Fletcher and former Manchester City, Bournemouth and Oldham striker Paul Moulden, have four teams at different age groups who all play in the Bolton and Bury District Football League.

The u16s, managed by Dave Armstrong, Joe Rice and Jon Quigley, are the outstanding team in the league at their age group and were Section A winners for the second season in succession as well as reaching the final of the prestigious Lancashire FA Cup in which they only lost on penalties.

Now the u13s have got in on the trophy act, winning the Players Cup with a magnificent comeback in the final.

A season after winning promotion to Section C the side managed by Steve Cooper and Gavin Elmes finished fourth in the league and are targeting the league title next season after recruiting three new players.

They got a flying start in the final against Winstanley Warriors Blues at Bolton Wanderers’ Eddie Davies Academy when striker Harrison Hill put them ahead after three minutes.

But when they were 3-1 down midway through the second half they had a mountain to climb.

But climb it they did, Hill pulling one back with a looping header before Ethan Foster equalised with a bullet header from Dillon Cooper's free kick and Omer Ibrahim slotted home the winner after a mazy dribble five minutes from time.

The club will again be represented at u13s next season with a new existing side, managed by Lee Yates and Dawn Woolham. The latter, who will take over as club secretary, said: "It is a breath of fresh air to be part of a club that really does put the kids first.

"They are a great club, with good FA Respect ethics and who work hard to keep it that way.

"Over the last few years BISC have seen players picked up by Blackpool, taken on trial at a number of other professional clubs, have seen two of their girls picked up by Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United and this season Connor Comber of our under16s has been picked up by BWFC."
