RYAN Fielding bagged a hat-trick for Wellington FC as they edged out Deane FC 5-4 in Division Two's game of the day.

Despite the weather restricting action to just four games in the Bolton at Home Sunday League, there was no shortage of excitement with the clash at Ladybridge between Wellington and Deane no exception.

Deane were the first team to make their mark and within 10 minutes were 2-0 up with goals from Jamie Entwistle and Nathan Hatton.

Wellington did not let their heads go down and in the 20th minute they got a free kick on the edge of the area, which was floated into the box and Michael Partington nodded past the Deane goalkeeper.

Within two minutes the Farnworth side drew level as Fielding beat two defenders and calmly slotted the ball home.

The scoreline stayed the same at half time, but within five minutes of the restart Fielding found himself with only the keeper to beat and did not disappoint as he got his second and Wellington's third.

Deane bounced back when, after a flowing passing move, the ever-reliable Hatton made it 3-3.

Both teams were going for the win and with 20 minutes left Fielding fired home from the edge of the box to put Wellington in front again and complete his hat-trick.

But it was all square again when Deane's Taz Smajic equalised with an excellent finish 10 minutes from time.

It was anyone's game with minutes to go and Fielding turned provider with an excellent cross for Brad Jackson who sent a superb diving header into the net to clinch it for Wellington and put them into second spot in the table.

The early leaders in Division Two are Salford side Barr Hill and they maintained their 100-per-cent record when they travelled to Little Lever to play Westhoughton FC and ran out comfortable 5-1 winners.

The goals for Barr Hill came from Tom Smith Makin (two), Luke Jones, Matty Taylor and Dave Vanden, while Westhoughton's consolation was an own goal.

The other game in Division Two was between Heaton Casuals and Bolton Rangers, with the Heaton side running out 6-3 winners.

Heaton's goals came from Jordan Byrne (three), Elliot Miller (two) and Joe Longworth.

The only game to survive the weather in Division One saw Little Hulton side Top Club travel to Barlow Park to take on Astley Bridge Elite.

Both teams took a point after a thrilling 4-4 draw. Astley Bridge Elite's scorers were Lee Brikles, with two penalties, Joe Howlin and Anthony Blears, while Adam Doyle (two), Lewis Porter and Josh Smith replied for Top Club.
