LAST week in the Premier Division of the Bolton Table Tennis League saw the slaying of the bottom half of the table by the top half.

Nomads had a shocker when they were despatched 27-1 by Glodwick.

The other strong contender for the title, Ramsbottom Town A, also hammered Hilton A 27-4 to stay neck and neck with Glodwick at the top of the table.

Third-placed Flixton Cricket Club A had a 24-11 victory over Wharton, assisted by nine points from stalwart Stephen Scowcroft.

Fourth-placed Radcliffe had a good 21-13 win against Ladybridge A with nine points from Brian Hallsworth.

Struggling Burning Desire lost 24-5 to Little Lever Cricket Club A assisted by a nine from Graham Jeffries.

There was one close match, however, in which Ramsbottom Town B just pipped Flixton Cricket Club B 16-15 helped by a nine from newcomer Ryan Choong.

It was a much more balanced affair in Division One. High-flying Hilton B beat their own E team 24-9 thanks to nines from Geoff Pye and Allan Cowley.

Wingates beat Hilton C 22-11 with a nine from John Bradbury.

Heaton Cricket Club A’s nine points from David Hall assisted a 21-14 victory over bottom club Farnworth SC A, and a nine from Martin Holt of unbeaten Ramsbottom Town C helped them to a 19-13 victory over Coburg.

Meadow Ben A overcame Little Lever B 21-13 despite a resisting nine from Paul Tatlock while Hilton D just managed a 18-17 victory over Ramsbottom Town D with new player Sandy Choong making her first appearance for Ramsbottom.

Division Two’s unbeaten leaders Bolton TTC A took out Meadow Ben B 24-12 with a nine from Nayem Alam.

Also unbeaten Polonia Club A beat bottom side Meadow Ben C assisted by a nine from David Kakol.

Ladybridge B swamped Farnworth SC B with a maximum 27-6 win, and Farnworth SC C did not fair much better losing 22-11 to Top Spinners helped by a nine from Gary Hilton.

Brass Zone had a good 18-11 victory over Bolton TTC B assisted by a nine from top of the averages Phil Petts.

Walkden Methodists strode on unbeaten with their fourth win 27-5 over Albany who are still looking for their first win of the season.

Two more teams awaiting their first win are Meadow Hill B and Polonia Club B. Meadow Hill B went down 21-10 to Hilton H with nines from Nathan Doanaldson and Nabeel Malji and Polonia lost 23-12 to Hilton F with Malcolm Wilcock getting nine for Hilton.

Meadow Hill A won 21-14 against Farnworth SC D despite a resisting nine from David Wyatt while Irlam Steel SC overcame Meadow Ben D with a nine from top of the averages David Yates.
