THIS week’s rummage around The Bolton News picture archives has unearthed this first photograph of Stoneclough United from April 1996. There is no information accompanying the picture other than the team name so we need readers' help to shed some light on that team? Are you one of the players or do you recall that team? Do you remember how they fared or what league they played in at the time? Email david.pye@nqnw.co.uk with any memories or information.

The second black and white picture was published in the September 5 edition of The Bolton News, and features a Bolton Lads Club team taken in November 1967. There was no other information with the image and we asked if any readers remembered the team. Terry O’Rourke, from Farnworth, recognised himself on the picture, got in touch and said: “I am in the middle on the front row and many people know me as ‘Tex’. On my left was Brian Wallwork, who played for Farnworth and went on to captain Farnworth Cricket Club. He was a fine cricketer and also a very good badminton player. On the back row on the left is Bernard Capper. I played with him at Walkden Town and he went on to be a policeman. On the right-hand side of the back row is Anthony Steggles, who is now a local accountant in Farnworth. I went to St Gregory’s school with him. I think the photograph was just taken at a training session as some have different kits on. It was taken in the gym at the Bark Street Lads Club.”
