THIS week’s delve into The Bolton News picture archives has unearthed a photograph of a Mount St Joseph's School football team from April 1984.

The caption accompanying the old snap says the youngsters were winners of the George Fell Plate after beating Harper Green School 3-1 in the final at the British Aerospace ground at Lostock.

But there is no other information to go with it.

Did you play for the team or do you recognise anyone in the line-up?

THE second picture was first published in the sporting nostalgia section on Tuesday, December 12 and features the Bolton County Grammar/Breightmet Schools under-13s team from April 1980.

Ian Walkden got in touch by email with more information and said: "I can shed a bit of light on this Motley Crew.

"I went to Red Lane Primary School with four of these.

"From the top left, first is John Kay and second is Nigel Lonsdale.

"From the bottom left, first is Andy Southern and fourth is Roy Coghail who went on to sign for Norwich City I think after being at Bolton.

"It looks like they are playing at my old secondary school, Hayward Grammar, with Slack Fold Lane at the top in the background."
