BURNDEN’S Ed Ashton was the first of the club’s runners to cross the line at the East Lancashire Hospice 10K in Great Harwood.

Ashton was third M50 in 41mins 5secs, while Paula Pilling was the first female member home – second F40 and third overall in 42:44.

Seven members headed up Rivington in the ark for the latest Petzl Night Run with Paul Duke the first of them to finish the 10K trail course in 56:11.

Adam Holmes was next in 1:18:44, followed by Louise Fox (1:24:15), Emma Walker (1:25:57), Julie Riddle (1:28:20), Jackie Oakes (1:28:21) and Karen Ratcliffe (1:42:00).

Ashton came fourth in the Northern Veterans’ AC Trail Race at Smithills Country Park, covering the 10K course in 42:39.

Gwen Kinloch was first F55 and ninth overall in 47:51, with Marcus Hamer also in the top 10, finishing seventh in 47:10.
