THE Bolton League’s top teams continued to milk points from the lower teams, not least unbeaten leaders Glodwick, who beat Little Lever CC A 24-7 with nines from Meng Cheng and Sean Doherty.

Second-placed Ramsbottom Town A beat their fourth-placed B team 22-12, helped by nine from Michael Moir.

Flixton CC A had a 27-4 win against bottom team Burning Desire while Nomads beat Radcliffe CC 17-15, largely due to man-of-the-match Yaroslav Zubets’ nine in only his second appearance of the season, and Hilton A beat Ladybridge A 23-11 with a maximum from Andrew Michnowiec.

Flixton CC B took advantage of Wharton in a maximum-point 27-5 win.

The top of Division One is very closely packed as Coburg, leading by one point, had a 22-9 win against Wingates, assisted by nine from Chris Naylor.

Just behind them, Ramsbottom Town C beat their D team 18-14 despite a resisting nine from David Kay.

Further behind are Hilton B, who had a maximum 27-5 win against Heaton CC A. Hilton D took advantage of two-man Farnworth SC A 27-4. Little Lever CC B had a 23-15 win against bottom team Hilton E, helped by Roy Costello’s nine. Hilton C beat Meadow Ben A 22-17 with Andrew Morey’s nine.

In Division Two there was a reversal of fortunes with higher teams falling foul of lower sides.

Leaders Bolton TTC A had a surprising defeat when their own B team took them to task 23-16, recent recruit Sam Greenhalgh achieving nine points.

Second-placed St Paul’s Peel also had a shocker when third-bottom Farnworth SC B beat them 24-10 with a nine from Martyn Garnet.

Meadow Ben B, in third, also suffered at the hands of second-bottom Farnworth SC C who, with nine from Ben Wyatt, went on to win 18-16. Brass Zone beat Heaton CC B by the same score, helped by a maximum from Phil Petts. Top Spinners took out bottom team Meadow Ben C 22-12 with nines from Alan Bradshaw and Gary Hilton.

Division Four’s Walkden Methodists marched on with a 22-13 win against Polonia Club B with man-of-the-match Carl Bennett on nine.

Second-placed Hilton F edged out fourth-placed Meadow Hill A 20-17 assisted by a nine from Ian Raby in a tight finish. Third-placed Hilton H beat Meadow Ben D 21-16, a result that means just three points separate second, third and fourth.

Elsewhere, Irlam Steel SC just beat Ladybridge C 17-15, helped by a nine from David Yates while Albany enjoyed a 27-7 win against struggling Hilton G and Farnworth SC D took out Meadow Ben B 26-3 with nines from David Wyatt and Pete Walker.
