AS the Bolton Table Tennis League resumed league matches last week the status quo remained at the top of the Premier Division.

Leaders Glodwick took care of Nomads 23-10, second-placed Ramsbottom Town A beat Hilton A 25-5, with nines from Michael Moir and Martin Wyatt, and third-placed Flixton Cricket Club A outplayed Wharton 24-8, with nines from Stephen Scowcroft and Jake Shaw.

Further down the table, Radcliffe Cricket Club beat Ladybridge A 21-12, helped by a nine from Robert Hall, and Little Lever Cricket Club A had a 23-12 victory over Burning Desire with a nine from Ron Durose.

In Division One, Little Lever Cricket Club B had a 21-15 victory over Meadow Ben A assisted by a nine from Roy Costello.

Division Two’s top team by far, Bolton TTC A, beat Meadow Ben B 23-12 with nines from Steven Gao and Nayem Alam.

Second-placed Polonia Club A trounced bottom-of-the-table Meadow Ben C 25-4 with nines from Dawid Kakol and Kryspin Zajac.

Third-placed St Paul’s Peel lost out to Heaton Cricket Club B 17-15 despite the usual nine from Lee Devenport, and fourth-placed Ladybridge B had a comfortable 19-9 victory over second-bottom Farnworth SC B with a nine from John Birchall.

In the bottom half of the table Farnworth SC C beat Top Spinners, who are just above them, 18-14 despite a resisting nine from Gary Hilton.

Division Three leaders Walkden Methodists made short shrift of beating Albany 25-4 with nines from Carl Bennett and Richard Whittleworth.

Meadow Hill A beat Farnworth SC D 23-10, despite a resisting nine from Mike Ferguson, to temporarily move into second place.

Second-bottom Hilton G had a surprise victory over mid-table Ladybridge C 19-12, Brian Greenhalgh scoring nine for the losers.
