THIS week's delve into The Bolton News archives has unearthed this photograph from May 1987.

It features young cubs from the 7th/20th Bolton North (Astley Bridge) group who beat the 16th Bolton North (The Oaks) team 7-2 at High Lawn Primary School in Sharples to win the Turton Cub knockout cup for the second year in a row.

Were you part of that cubs team?

Do you recognise any of the faces on the picture?

Email david.pye@nqnw.co.uk with any recollections.

THE second picture was first published on March 15 after being brought in to The Bolton News offices by reader George Smedley.

The photograph shows the Richard Hough works team and was taken in 1957.

Alan Hankinson got in touch and said: "I viewed, with interest, your picture in the paper.

" I recognise the person on the extreme right as my father – Frank Hankinson – who went on to receive a MBE in 2002.

"Thanks for an amazing picture."

Tracy Peacock also saw the photograph and emailed: "My dad is the fifth man from the left on the back row.

"His name is Keith Bower and in the photo he is a very young 18 years of age.

"Unfortunately, he died 10 years ago but I loved seeing his young face.

"Thank you for publishing it."
