MARK Liptrott was the first of three Lostockers to finish the London Marathon, coming home in 4hrs 1min 30 secs.

He was followed home by Paul Lacey (4:45:27) and Vikki Goodyear (5:19:33).

Elsewhere, 11 members headed to the Lake District and the final running of the Anniversary Waltz and Teenager with Altitude fell races.

Both races follow the Newlands Valley horseshoe and visit the high Lakeland tops, with the Teenager with Altitude covering 15.4 miles and 7,600 feet of climbing, and the Anniversay Waltz covering 11.5 miles and 3,600 feet of ascent.

Chris Taylor, Matt Withers, Rob Garstang and Albert, Abigail and Michele Sunter all took part in the Anniversary Waltz, while Tony Marlow was the first Lostocker to finish the Teenager with Altitude in 4:14:41.

He was followed home by Josie Greenhalgh (4:25:53), Rob Sharkey (4:49:38) and Mark Shuttleworth (5:01:04). Mark Checkley was a victim of the hot weather, having to retire at the first check point.

In the Bolton 10k, eight Lostockers turned in strong performances.

Stuart Hatton continued to show good form, finishing in 46:29, followed by Andy Laycock (48:41) and another age-group third place for Rachel Hancock in 48:46.

Paul Walton finished in 50:41, Kerry Garden was seventh in her age group in 56:25, Ian Burns came home in 57:05 and Jocelyn Chadderton in 58:49, while Gillian Caldwell was also third in her age group in 60:31.

At Haigh Hall parkrun, Andy Laycock finished in 24:09 and Paul O'Brien clocked 26:31.
