THIS week’s delve into The Bolton News picture archives has thrown up this photograph from May 1989 of Withins School Under-12s football team.
The information accompanying the picture says the team were winners of the Glynne Rogers Knockout Trophy after beating Turton School 4-2 in the final.

THE second photograph is from November 1979 and features the Park United football team.
It was published in The Bolton News sporting nostalgia section on April 5 and evoked many memories from readers.
Mick Kolodziejski got in touch and said: "My mum showed me the photo of Park United.
"The names starting from the back row, left to right, are: Paul Davies, Bernard Linden Capper, Ian ?, Steve Ford, myself, Jed Plimley, Andy Hill; front, Barrie Winrow, Jimmy Noone, Brian Heyes and Billy Gresty."
