ANDY Guy raced to a third and fourth place in the latest round of the Thundersport GB Championship at Oulton Park,

Riding his 675 Triumph in the 600 Sportsman class, which runs in the Elite 600 Class, he worked his way up from 17th on the grid to 10th overall and third in his class in the first race.

Catching second place all the time on his local Cheshire track, the Egerton truck driver ran out of laps and ended up crossing the line just two tenths of a second behind.

Guy, aged 37, was disappointed with race two in which he got involved in a scrappy battle for first place in class and ended up finishing fourth.

He came off worst when some riders coming back on the track went across the front of the leading pack, forcing them to take evasive action.

Guy, who currently lies fourth in the championship, said: "I feel we made some good ground with our bike over the weekend and got used to the cut and thrust of the higher level.

"I'm happy really with our third and fourth places in class and we are definitely heading in the right direction."

The next round is at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire this weekend.
