BOLTON Futsal Club are league champions in their first season.

They capped a dominant season with a resounding 9-1 victory over York Futsal Development after topping the national Division Two table from the start to the finish of the campaign.

Only a collapse of monumental proportions could have denied them confirming their championship success in their last game, with a defeat by a 24-goal margin required.

Leading goalscorer Ash Jones and Dan Faulkner both scored hat-tricks, while Scott Williams, Mihai Goia and Matt Carr got one each for coach Fahid Sulemane’s side who have won every game apart from one defeat and one draw all season.

With one piece of silverware and promotion to Division One secured, they continue their search for a prestigious second trophy a week on Sunday when they host Birmingham in the quarter-final of the Futsal Cup at Smithills Sports Centre, kick off 5pm.
