TIME is almost up for you to nominate your local sporting heroes.

This year’s glittering Bolton Active Sports Awards will be presented at the Macron’s Premier Suite and you have just a few days to put forward your top volunteers for a prize.

Almost 1,000 club representatives, coaches and volunteers attended last year’s awards night, making it one of the biggest local borough sports awards in the country.

Guest of honour Fabrice Muamba handed out the prestigious prizes as well as receiving an award himself, the former Wanderers star honoured by Bolton Council for his contribution to football and his work raising awareness of the need to install defibrillators at sports clubs.

This year’s event promises to be even bigger but the deadline for nominations is almost upon us as no entries can be accepted after this Friday.

“The vision is to make Bolton active, connected and prosperous and the event showcases this in abundance,” said community sports development officer Wahid Khan.
