LOSTOCK's Anthony Wilcock finished his most recent half marathon on Sunday in his quest to complete 30 half marathons in his 30th year for the Zuri Project in Uganda.
Wilcock set himself the challenge to raise funds for the social enterprise, which aims to develop educational, health and self-directed sustainability projects in the Kihembe village area in Uganda.
His latest event took him to the Fylde Coast for the Great North West half marathon where he finished in a time of 2hrs 11secs.
Joining Wilcock on the Fylde coast were fellow Lostockers Hayley Cooper (1:58:35) and Beverley Aghertin-McKenna (1:58:47).
Also racing the half marathon at a tough, undulating Harewood House was Paul Lacey, who finished in a time of 1:50:30.
The final race of the South East Lancashire Cross Country League headed to the new location of Yarrow Country Park in Chorley and Gill Caldwell produced the standout Lostock performance with a third-place age-group finish in 43:47.
Christine Smith was fourth in her age group with a time of 43:03, and there were equally strong performances from Melonie Crompton (34:35), Karen Taylor (39:32) and Kate Rotheram (45:08).
James Jackson was the first Lostocker home in the men's race in a time of 41:09, followed by Mark Shuttleworth (42:23), Pete Noble (46:23) and Andy Laycock (46:49).
The annual Mr Sparkles Dark' Un night time fell race in Tockholes saw Mike Ernill home in a time of 44:42 and Jocelyn Chadderton finishing in 53:34.
