Thornleigh Girls Footie
Secondary school girls from across Bolton took part in a seven-a-side football competition at Thornleigh Salesian College.
The schools involved were Smithills, Little Lever, Withins, Mount St Joseph’s Harper Green, St Joseph’s, Harper Green, Hayward, Ladybridge, Sharples, Westhoughton, St James, Turton, and Thornleigh.
Eventual winners were St Joseph’s, Horwich, who beat Withins 1-0 in the final.
The tournament was organised for Key Stage Three pupils by Leanne McKeon, head of girls’ PE at Ladybridge High in Deane.
She said: “The standard of play was really high and the girls really enjoyed the event.”
