ELITE LEAGUE ICE HOCKEY: Manchester Storm have signed forward Luke Salazar to their roster for the 2015-16 season.

The 26-year-old American winger has spent all of his professional career playing in Europe.

After playing college hockey with the University of Denver, Salazar iced in 2012-13 in Norway where he scored at over a point per game.

He then spent a year in the top flight in Austria where he amassed 37 points (15+22) in 53 games for Innsbruck.

Last season, Salazar played in Sweden's Allsvenskan for Asplöven and scored three goals and contributed 20 assists for 23 points.

Storm player-coach, Omar Pacha, said: "We are delighted to have added Luke Salazar to our line-up and he is a great addition to our growing group.

"He has played in some very good leagues and put up good numbers.

"Luke is a good skater and has good acceleration which he uses so well. He has good hands, see’s the ice well and has a quick release.

"He is very clever player and is very good away from the puck, and supports the play so well. He will be an important player on all situations.

"Luke is going to be a go-to guy for us and will make a big difference to our offence. He is a very exciting addition and we are delighted to have him with us here in Manchester."
