BANK Top Brewery moved into joint top spot in Division Two of the Farnworth League with a narrow win over Hulton Lane Ladies.

The New Inn are level on points at the summit but with a game in hand ahead of next week’s clash of the top two, who play each other the week after as well.

Third-placed AJs had a comfortable victory over Aura Ladies but their chances of winning the group have gone because of the situation involving the teams above them.

Contract Services finally picked up a victory by beating The Grapes C and the pair now have the same number of points.

Contract Services still have three games to play while The Grapes have just one as they aim to overhaul third-bottom Aura Ladies who they play in their next two games.

Elton Vale need three points from their remaining three games to clinch the Division One title and, with only nine players on Sunday, they beat Adlington by 60 runs.

Wally’s Eleven have not given up the chase for top spot though as they beat BabyGuds by 31 runs.

The defeat dropped BabyGuds a place in the table as The Grapes A came from nine runs behind to beat Kearsley by 19.

Capital Catering produced an excellent performance to beat BabyGuds Kubs XI by 39. The triumph lifts Capital above Kearsley at the bottom and leaves three teams locked on six points at the foot of the table.

The Bolton Cricket Club matches were postponed due to a waterlogged pitch after heavy rain on Saturday.

There is no change in the Eagley League as the top four all won and the top three remain locked on the same number of points with identical records.

BB Belles are the only one of the leading four to benefit from a handicap start but, on Sunday against Hi Q Fabs, they actually gave their opponents a five-run start, and still won comfortably by 21 runs.

Despite giving Astley Bridge 30 runs, Divas had no problem in winning by 31 while Redgate had a scratch start against Care Staff Solutions and managed a 13-run victory over a side struggling at the bottom of the table. Eagley Pike had a 30- run start against Westside XI, but made little impression as Westside romped to a 38-run victory which keeps them just four points behind the leading trio.
