THERE were no surprises in the Bolton Cricket Club Winter Rounders League as the teams played the penultimate matches for the season.

Division One champions Darcy Blues maintained their perfect record with a comfortable win over KC Ladies and Laurel Ladies were confirmed as runnersup following the demolition of Party Perfections.

Unbeaten Dave’s Minibus secured the top spot in Division Two by beating Bolton South Ladies by 69 runs, but the first innings was far from easy as they were held at 64 to 45. JJs hopes of winning the league were dashed by Dave’s Minibus winning, but they were living in hope as they beat BCC Girls by 61 runs.

The Farnworth League was completed with a Division Two play-off between Bank Top Brewery and The New Inn. Their previous encounters were very close with only two runs between them in two games, but The New Inn showed the greater will to win in the play-off as the won the first innings by 33 runs and the second by 15.

With two matches to play, the Eagley League is no nearer a solution, but leaders Divas must be favourites to win. They beat HiQ Fabs to go top while Redgate lost to BB Belles to put the pair of them two points behind. Westside are now out of contention following their defeat at the hands of Care Staff Solutions.
