Newcomers join in cycle speedway

Astley and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club hosted the opening round of the new North-west Go-Ride Grand Prix series at Gin Pit.

Several newcomers took part, and after a short coaching session, it was on with the racing.

Ben Dickenson and Joel Partington ran out as joint top scorers, each dropping just one point, with Adam Watson and Matthew Turnbull finishing a further point behind.

A wet, grippy, track saw three riders beat their personal best times - Matthew Turnbull, Ben Dickenson and Adam Watson.

A & T take on Hull in a Northern League clash at Gin Pit next Sunday. First race is at 2 pm, with the main event, the 1st team match starting at 3 pm.

The track is at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Astley. M29 7DW. Further details HERE.
