WANDERERS have been given a mouth-watering home tie against local rivals Wigan Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup.
Malky Mackay’s struggling Latics wll provide the first opponents of 2015 for Neil Lennon’s resurgent Whites, with the tie due to be played on Saturday, January 3.
Wanderers have already beaten Wigan at the Macron this season – with Max Clayton, Craig Davies and Chung-Yong Lee netting in a 3-1 victory on November 7 - and also came out on top in their last meeting in the cup back in 2011.
The two sides have only ever met twice in the competition, with Ivan Klasnic scoring the decisive goal at the DW Stadium in a replay en route to the semi-final.
Should Bury get through their replay with Luton Town they have been drawn away to Cambridge United or Mansfield.
The Shakers’ replay will take place on Tuesday, December 16 with a 7.45pm kick-off at Kenilworth Road.
