ADAM Le Fondre may be forced to sit out tomorrow’s Championship clash with Wolves.

Although Neil Lennon has pinned his hopes on naming the on-loan striker in his squad at the Macron Stadium, it is feared red tape could wreck his plans.

Le Fondre’s contract only kicks in today – after which Wanderers can apply for international clearance.

And the club have found out to their cost with deals this season for Joe Mason and Kevin McNaughton that nothing can be taken for granted when putting paperwork through with the Welsh FA, who govern Cardiff City’s transfers.

As of yesterday the club were still waiting for clearance for Portuguese winger Rochinha, whose loan move from Benfica was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

Asked whether Le Fondre could figure against Wolves, Lennon said: “I hope so. At the minute we’ve just been so unlucky with injuries but I think Le Fondre will make a huge difference for us, particularly in the forward area.

“Some of the players were running on fumes. The injures have taken their toll, especially on the creative side of things.

“I looked at the bench at Rotherham and it was kids. The loss of Craig Davies, Emile Heskey, Chung-Yong Lee, Mark Davies, Max Clayton – they would affect any team, not just us.”

Lennon is also holding out hope that Zach Clough could play a part in his squad after making progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury sustained after his stunning debut against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Sanmi Odelusi trained with Coventry yesterday in a bid to secure a season-long loan deal at the Ricoh Arena.

The young striker, who was on the bench for Wanderers in Tuesday night’s 4-2 defeat at Rotherham United, is expected to complete his deal before the Sky Blues face Rochdale this Saturday.

The Whites have also confirmed that striker Kaiyne Woolery has joined Notts County on a one-month loan deal.

Magpies boss Sean Derry is looking forward to seeing the 20-year-old, signed from Tamworth in the summer, in action at Meadow Lane.

“The biggest difference between now and the last seven or eight games is we have different types of players available.

“That's why I looked at Kaiyne, as he has absolute sheer pace,” he added.
