WOLVES don’t give much away – so this game could come down to whether Wanderers have someone to pick the lock tomorrow.

Kenny Jackett’s side has a great defensive record and chances will be at a premium, and that’s why someone like Eidur Gudjohnsen could be absolutely vital.

He has the ability to find space between the back four and midfield and the Icelander’s clever passes and knowledge to play in that area will be pivotal.

Neil Lennon’s side was brought back down to earth a bit in midweek with the loss at Rotherham and looked almost the opposite team to the one who had drawn at Liverpool a few days earlier. Yes, there was some improvement in the second half, but I hope the team learns some lessons from the game and then applies them as they move forward and look towards the future.

This is another tough test. Wolves have had a good start to the season and are sitting seventh in the table, beating Bolton already at Molineux back in September.

However the Whites are unbeaten at home and Lennon seems to take great pride in that record.

After what happened at Rotherham it’s important they go back to the fundamentals of defending and play with the same motivation and concentration levels they did at Anfield, and also against Wigan, Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday.

I think Wolves are beatable and they are missing one of the best players in the Championship in Bakary Sako – who is away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

They have other good individuals in the team who’ll step up to the plate and if we don’t match them for intensity from the first minute, it could be a long day.

It’s always weird when you come up against your former team-mates and I hope we see Sam Ricketts, who was a great servant for Wanderers.

I’m sure the Bolton fans would give him a warm welcome because he came back from a very heavy injury but still performed really well.

Friendships will be put to one side once the game starts and I’d hope Wanderers can finish higher up the league come the end of the season.

But we must avoid the sloppy start that cost us a foothold in the game at Rotherham. You simply can’t be 3-0 down at half time and expect to progress.
