KAIYNE Woolery continued his excellent pre-season form with the only goal of the game as Wanderers lifted the Harold Taylor Memorial Trophy against Chorley.
A development squad team was boosted with first teamers Medo Kamara and Andy Kellett, as well as Ross Fitzsimons and Niall Maher, who also accompanied the senior squad in their recent visit to Austria.
Striker Woolery scored after 21 minutes, racing through on George Newell’s through ball to make it three goals in as many games this summer.
Chorley had chances to equalise through Josh Hine and Aaron Burns before ex-Whites keeper Sam Ashton denied Chris Cvetko at the bitter end with a smart save.
John McGinlay awarded the trophy at the end to captain Maher, with Iain Brunskill’s side travelling to Colwyn Bay on Saturday looking to continue their solid pre-season run.
