THE jury is still out on Scottish striker Stephen Dobbie at Wanderers.

Neil Lennon admits he is a fan of the 32-year-old former Crystal Palace front man, who has been with the club for more than a fortnight on trial.

But the Whites boss insists he is yet to make up his mind whether to offer Dobbie a chance to stay on at the Macron Stadium.

Despite opening his pre-season account with a goal against Morecambe on Friday and featuring in last night's friendly at Oldham, Dobbie still has more to prove to Lennon before he will press ahead with talks about a contract.

“I’ve always liked Stephen,” the manager said. “You can see he’s still lacking in match practice in some areas of his game but he’s always been a good footballer, and a good goalscorer.

“He’s certainly not done his chances any harm at all.

“If I decide to push the button on it then I’ll speak with his representatives and see if we can agree a deal but at the moment we haven’t made that decision.”

Lennon is having to create room in his budget by selling or loaning players and the club is expected to confirm Rob Hall’s season-long deal to MK Dons within the next few days.

Another player who looks to be heading towards the exit door at Bolton is Medo Kamara – and while Lennon insists the club is not actively looking to move him on, he hinted he would be open to an offer.

Partizan Belgrade have been strongly linked with an interest in their former midfielder, who did not feature at all under Lennon last season.

“I’m not aware of him being offered around, it’s a lot of speculation as far as I’m concerned,” said the Wanderers boss.

“Possibly it’s his people. I’ve got an abundance of midfield players and I do want to free up some wages.

“Is his future at Bolton? I can’t really say that at the moment.”
