NEIL Lennon felt Wanderers got their just reward by snatching a point against Nottingham Forest with a priceless 94th minute strike from Stephen Dobbie.

The substitute scored with virtually his first touch to register Bolton’s first goal in more than 10 hours of football, and earn a draw that lifted them off the foot of the Championship table.

Dougie Freedman’s Forest looked set for victory after David Vaughan’s spectacular goal with nine minutes remaining.

Gary Madine had missed a penalty for Wanderers, who had also wasted some good chances through Zach Clough, Dorian Dervite and Neil Danns.

But Lennon was delighted to get the monkey off his side’s back with a first goal of the season from Dobbie deep into stoppage time.

“I thought we were great,” he said. “We limited Forest to counter attacking, which I think was Dougie’s gameplan, but I never felt any danger except for Antonio breaking at one stage.

“We missed a penalty and it was a poor one from Gary if he’s honest but he’s playing well in general and he’s leading the line brilliantly.

“We had chance after chance and we got our reward. You gauge the reaction from the crowd at the end and they’ve given the players a great reception.

“I know they will be disappointed not to have won the game, and we were too, but the performance levels were good.”
